Welcome
Welcome to Regent House Preparatory Department and thank you for your interest in our school.
As you browse our website, I would like to take the opportunity to highlight some of the value added features that Regent House Preparatory Department has to offer its pupils, and their families, and share with you some of the qualities that underpin our daily routines and activities. The smaller classes within the Preparatory Department often benefit some children who need the opportunity and time with their teacher that this affords them. Recently we have introduced a breakfast club and afternoon wraparound club running until 3pm for children in Prep 1 - Prep 3. We have a long-standing tradition of families and warmly welcome new pupils and their families also. There is a strong sense of family from youngest to eldest child bringing with it a strong sense of belonging and identity and we encourage a partnership with parents. Specialist teaching in Games, Art and Music from the staff of the grammar school is part of the timetable at Regent Preparatory Department and our high standards at the end of key stage tests are consistently above the NI average. As a parent you should expect to find that attention to the child’s well–being, respect for the family, a strong pastoral ethos and commitment to Child Protection are all evident in the Department. Good discipline and dedication to see each child develop and grow provide opportunities for families and school to work together in partnership. The teaching of life skills, building for the future to develop future leaders in society and the global community, and commitment to the delivery of a well-balanced and relevant curriculum are all valued in the Preparatory Department’s ethos and practice.
