After School Clubs
Football Club
Our KS2 Football Club is run by Mr Similie, Mr Fitzsimons every Monday afternoon from 3 - 4:15pm. These sessions usually take place in the Ards Leisure Centre, however, when the weather improves during the summer term, pupils play on the outdoor pitches at the Dairy Halls. Pupils from football club have been participating in the local Ards Borough football league putting their skills and techniques to good practice in proper matches.
Netball Club
Netball Club is run by Miss Spiers, Miss Rollo and 6th Form helper Miss Andrews and is open to all Prep 4-7 pupils. They meet from 3 - 4:15pm every Monday. Sessions are usually held in school using the facilities here. The Prep netball team participates in local tournaments during the summer term.
Scripture Union
Scripture Union meets every Monday at lunch time in the Prep 4 room. It is run by Mr Johnston and Mrs Frazer and is open to all pupils from Prep 1-7. Pupils participate in singing songs, games, quizzes and learning Bible verses.
Choir
Prep Choir is open to all pupils from Prep 4-7 and meets in the Prep 1 room on Tuesdays from 3 - 3:45pm. Run by Mrs Redmond and accompanied by Mrs Adgey, the choir have performed at the Northern Ireland Peace Proms in the Waterfront in February and are preparing for a local competition in Ballywalter. The choir regualrly perform at school events such as the Carol Service and Prize Day, and continue community links by visiting Movilla Nursing Home and Danske Bank.
Drama Club
Drama Club is run by our Drama specialist Mr Ash and assisted by Mrs Slane. Pupils from Prep 4 - 7 work on small group performances and choral speaking. They performed at our Open Morning and have been preparing to lead one of our PDMU assemblies.
Art Club
Art club is available to all Prep 4 - 7 pupils. It meets on Thursdays in the Prep 2 room from 3 - 4 pm. Run by our Art specialist Mrs Anderson and assisted by Miss Thompson, pupils have been learning new skills and techniques as they make crafts and wall displays.
Dance Club
Dance Club meets on Thursdays in the 1st Ards Scout Center from 3 - 4pm. Led by local dance instructor Linda Moore and assisted by Mrs Kelly, Dance Club is open to all pupils from Prep 2 - 7. The dancers usually take center stage during our Prize Day performance with a specially prepared piece.
Jumping Clay Club
Jumping Clay Club is run by Barbara, the Jumping Clay associate in Comber and operates during the autumn term. Open to Prep 2 - 4, Jumping Clay meets on Tuesdays from 3 - 4 pm. Each session the pupils learn to make shapes like "Billy Ball" before molding and sculpting them into a figure to take home.
